The train was beginning to slow down and several of the passengers got up, pilgrim included.
"Your stop?"
"No. The train is stopping for a while. Most of its passengers grab this opportunity and take a long walk by the sea."
I looked outside and our proximity to the sea caught me by surprise. The sandy beach seemed to go on  forever, disappearing in the horizon, only a handful of dunes separated us from this undiscovered vacation spot. Or at least I assumed it was unknown, seagulls and weeds were the only living things that I could see.
The brakes didn't fail when their familiar screech was heard and we came to a halt.
Pilgrim put her hood back over her head and started walking towards the aisle but didn't join the exiting passengers. She just stood there, and I noticed her companions acting in a similar fashion, just standing in line between the seats... waiting.
As soon as the last passenger had left, pilgrim's group headed towards the exit but didn't leave. The first one in line, the one who had scanned me when entering the car, nodded towards pilgrim and lead his group outside.
"You should take advantage of this opportunity and enjoy the beach."
She didn't face me, instead she talked while walking along the aisle. I grabbed my backpack as she got closer to the door, and when she disappeared from my sight I followed suite.
