The stroll down memory lane had stopped, but I sensed I was still dreaming and for some reason could not wake up. I looked around but found only darkness. It was a very strange feeling, to be able to see ones entire body but not its surroundings.
I ran, screamed and even pinched myself, trying to wake up, but every effort seemed to be in vain.
After a while, I started glimpsing a hood that vanished whenever I tried to focus on it. I knew I wasn't alone. So I screamed once again, calling out my unseen foe and captor, but no answer was heard, or even an echo. And that was when I realised I was in my mind, and therefore, at least theoretically, I could will things to happen or even into existence. So I sat down, closed my eyes and tried calming myself, focusing my mind.
I started simple, only focusing on one word: white. I pictured it surrounding me until all I could see was white,  and when I thought I had a strong enough focus, I opened my eyes and to my satisfaction, the darkness was gone, I was now surrounded by white.
Encouraged by this transformation, I tried visualizing a wooden floor, which appeared when I reopened my eyes.  It looked, sounded and even felt like real wood, and if I hadn't known better, I would've said that it was.
After that I started experimenting, and found myself capable of creating anything that I thought of: sand, water,
fire, wind, rocks, houses, cities and even oceans. There seemed to be no limits except to one creation... I could not imagine a single living thing. Which was weird, because I was almost certain I could do it, but every time I  tried, the life formed just vanished in smoke, like it was evaporating.
During these experiments, my awareness of my captor increased, and I knew he was behind my continuous failures... so why not put him to the test?
If I could imagine a complex and big enough life form, perhaps I could break his hold over me.
I focused on the biggest animal I could, a dinosaur, and pictured it moving, its sound, its colour, even its smell, and as it started forming, I could feel my captors presence as if he was right beside me. This time I could feel  him counter every thought, erasing every aspect I had created. But I wouldn't go down easily, instead of trying to redo all the work he undid, I started work on three other dinosaurs, all with different properties.
This caused him to panic, as he tried hopelessly to stop me. But I knew I was winning and opened my eyes. Two of the four dinosaurs were nearly formed, while the other ones were starting to evaporate, and at their feet I saw him. It was a blue man, but he looked fuzzy, like he wasn't completely real or solid.
In order to keep him distracted, I restarted work on my first two dinosaurs, which caught him off guard since his figure was now defined.
Quickly, I imagined myself behind him, put my hand on his shoulder... and woke up.
I was breathing heavily and staring at one of the hooded figures, which was also in an altered state. I looked  outside, trying to break any and all connections with him.
