I put my wet clothes beside me and kept drying my hair, which was still dripping.
"I should've followed your example and also dive in." His eyes didn't waver from the book.
"I thought you had."
"No. The only thing that got wet were my feet."
He was wearing his shoes, and I could see that the lower part of his pants were darker, partially wet.
"Well, you missed out."
"I'm sure I did, but unfortunately, and unlike you, I do not have a change of clothes with me at the moment."
My towel joined the pile of clothes and I closed my eyes, somehow managing to relax.
Even if it was only for a few minutes, dipping myself in water had done wonders to my spirit.
"I needed that..."
"I'm glad it helped. And as a bonus, you avoided getting drunk."
"Sorry, that came out without thinking. But I guess you do have a point."
"What happened only delayed your own improvement."
I didn't need to look to my right in order to check on whose voice it was, I knew Pilgrim was standing there beside me.
"Oh stop pestering the boy."The suit had closed his book."He needs to relax."
"You must return to your seat now, there is much you still have to deal with."
It was obvious she was ignoring him, just as he was ignoring her attitude.
"He will deal with it when he's ready, on his terms, not on yours..."
They went on for about ten minutes. Arguing without actually talking to each other, which I had to admit, demanded a certain amount of skill, of which I had only witnessed back home, when I could distinguish an occasional word through the nonstop exchange of screams.
"...and I can help you with every problem you currently have, but we must begin now."
"And of course you think yours is the correct way to deal with it."
I stood up, picked up my pile of clothes, headed to my seat and put the clothes on my bag. Pilgrim had followed me.
"Wise decision." She said as she was siting down. "Now we..."
"I..." My head turned around and faced her."... am heading to the bar, and I don't know when I'll be back, so if you want you can follow, cause I don't know when I'll be coming back."I then entered the aisle and moved towards the bar access.
My hand rested on the handle as I looked to my left, but noticed the suit was once again engaged in his reading... though I could see a faint smile across his face.
