Dreams begot dreams, and I started reliving the events that lead me to my current situation. The weird part was, I knew I was dreaming but it didn't feel like a dream. Like I was a mere spectator watching my memories unfold before me. I was back in the city, and heading home at night, exhausted.  My home was close to the train station, this meant I had a fifteen minute walk ahead of me. Thankfully the city wasn't built on any hills or mountains. The entire city was leveled off and a person could pretty much walk anywhere without tiring itself.
I was now approaching one of the three lakes within city limits. All of them were natural occurrences and well taken care of. Public parks on their vicinities made sure people could enjoy the view and events throughout the year ensured the continuous flow of tourists.
By night you could see couples walking at its edges, enjoying the moonlight and its reflection on the still waters. That night however, the sky was cloudy, and you could feel the other downside of the city. The wind was blowing in full force so I had my coat zipped up while I circled the lake. It wasn't the shortest path home, but I had to walk a little, even if it meant almost facing a gale.
My mind was overcrowded and I needed to sort what had happened in order to get some sense of peace... or at least try.
